投稿から単語を登録
タイムラインの投稿で気になった英単語を選ぶと、意味が表示されます。そのまま単語帳に追加できます。
辞書と AI の解説
内蔵の英和辞書で、意味をすぐに確かめられます。AI が意味や使い方を解説したり、投稿を校正したりする機能は、今は運営者が許可したアカウントだけが使えます。
発音を聞く
単語や投稿の英文をブラウザの読み上げ機能で読み上げるので、耳でも覚えられます。
クイズで復習
登録した単語を、4 択のクイズで復習できます。正解率の低い単語は、進捗の画面に「要復習の単語」として出ます。
学習の記録
連続して学習した日数と統計で、どれだけ続けたかがひと目で分かります。結果は Bluesky でシェアできます。
単語帳はあなたのもの
単語帳は、あなたの Bluesky のデータ置き場（PDS）に保存されます。別のブラウザや端末でも、同じ単語帳を使えます。
はじめかた
Bluesky のアカウントがあれば、すぐに始められます
- Bluesky でログインBluesky のハンドル（例: yourname.bsky.social）を入れて「Blueskyでログイン」を押します。Bluesky の画面に移るので、パスワードはそこで入れます。くもたんにはパスワードを渡しません。
- タイムラインを読むフォローしている人の投稿が並びます。気になった英単語は、押すと選べます。緑の点線が付いた単語は、もう単語帳にある単語です。
- 気になった単語を登録単語を選ぶと、辞書の訳が出ます。訳は候補から選ぶか、自分で書き直します。最後に「単語帳に追加」を押します。あとはクイズで復習しましょう。
データの扱い
データの保存先と、外部に送るものについて
- 単語帳や学習の記録を、運営者のサーバーで預かることはありません。単語帳はあなた自身の PDS に、学習の記録はお使いのブラウザの中に保存されます。
- PDS に保存したデータは、AT Protocol の仕組み上、誰でも読める公開データです。投稿の本文は保存せず、元の投稿へのリンクだけを残します。
- AI の機能（単語の解説と投稿の校正）を使うと、単語や投稿の下書きが Cloudflare の AI サービス（Workers AI）に送られます。Cloudflare は、送った内容を AI の学習に使わないとしています。今は運営者が許可したアカウントだけが使えます。

渡しません。ログインは Bluesky の画面で行い、くもたんはパスワードを受け取りません。

機種を変えたら、データはどうなりますか？
単語帳は PDS に保存されているので、なくなりません。iPhone 版にはもうログインできません。新しい機種では、公開後の Web 版で単語帳を読んでください。
クイズの記録と学習の記録は iPhone の中にだけ保存されているので、新しい iPhone には移りません。

Web 版で、iPhone 版のデータは使えますか？
単語帳は使えます。Web 版は PDS から単語帳を読むので、iPhone 版で登録した単語がそのまま出ます。ただし、PDS への保存が終わっていない単語は出ません。
クイズの記録と学習の記録は、iPhone の中にだけ保存されているので、Web 版には引き継ぎません。Web 版では、記録が新しく始まります。
Web 版では、学習の記録はどこに保存されますか？
お使いのブラウザの中に保存します。記録はブラウザや端末ごとに別々になり、ブラウザのデータを消すと記録も消えます。
パソコンとスマホなど、端末をまたいで記録を揃える機能は、要望があれば、使うかどうかを選べる形で検討します。
質問や要望はどこに送ればよいですか？

メールへの返信は、contact@kumotan.app ではなく運営者の Gmail のアドレスから届きます。数日たっても返信が無いときは、迷惑メールフォルダも確かめてください。

Your word list is yours
Your word list is stored in your own Bluesky data store (PDS), so you can use the same list in another browser or on another device.
Getting started
All you need is a Bluesky account
- Sign in with BlueskyEnter your Bluesky handle (e.g. yourname.bsky.social) and press "Sign in with Bluesky". You move to Bluesky's own page and enter your password there. Kumotan never sees your password.
- Read your timelinePosts from the people you follow appear here. Pick any English word you notice. Words with a green dotted underline are already in your word list.
- Save the words you noticePick a word to see its meaning from the dictionary. Choose one of the suggested meanings or write your own, then press "Add to word list". Review them later with quizzes.
Your data
Where your data is stored, and what is sent elsewhere
- Your word list and study records are never kept on our servers. Your word list is stored in your own PDS, and your study records stay in your browser.
- Data in a PDS is public by design of the AT Protocol. Kumotan does not store post text there, only a link to the original post.
- When you use AI features (word explanations and post proofreading), the word or post draft is sent to Cloudflare's AI service (Workers AI). Cloudflare states that it does not use what you send to train AI. They are currently available only to accounts the operator has allowed.

FAQ
If something is unclear, check here first
Do I give Kumotan my Bluesky password?
No. You sign in on Bluesky's own page, and Kumotan never receives your password.
Can other people see the words I save?
Yes. Your word list is stored in your PDS, and data in a PDS is public by design of the AT Protocol. Kumotan does not store post text there, only a link to the original post.
What happens to my data when I change phones?
Your word list is stored in your PDS, so it is not lost. You can no longer sign in to the iPhone app, so read your word list in the web version on your new device once it is released.
Your quiz history and study records are kept only on the iPhone, so they do not move to the new one.
Is there a web version?
It is in preparation. There is no release date yet.
Can I use my iPhone data in the web version?
Your word list, yes. The web version reads your word list from your PDS, so the words you saved on the iPhone appear as they are. Words that have not finished saving to your PDS do not appear.
Your quiz history and study records are kept only on the iPhone, so they are not carried over. The web version starts a new record.
Where does the web version keep my study records?
They are kept in your browser. Each browser or device has its own records, and clearing your browser data also clears them.
If people ask for it, we will consider a way to sync records across devices, such as a computer and a phone, as an option you can turn on or off.
